19th Amendment
In 1920, the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote, was passed in the Senate and was given to the states to vote. It made women's suffrage a part of the Constitution.

Susan B. Anthony was arrested for illegally voting in the 1972 election. She was a major leader in women's suffrage and was a part of the National Women Suffrage Association.
