- “Excuse me,” “but is there a fairly cheap hotel not too far away from here?”
- "Try the bell and dragon, they might take you in, its about a quater of a mile long on the other side"
- Suddenly, in a downstairs window that was brilliantly illuminated by a street lamp not six yards away, Billy caught sight of a printed notice propped up against the glass in one of the upper panes. It said BED AND BREAKFAST
- Bed and Breakfast
- “I was on my way to The Bell and Dragon,” Billy told her. “But the notice in your window just happened to catch my eye.”
- “My dear boy,” she said, “why don’t you come in out of the cold?”
- He found the guest book lying open on the piano, so he took out his pen and wrote down his name and address.
- Billy recongnizes two names in the book being Christopher mulholland and Gregory W. Temple Shortly before the land landlady brings them both tea. He then mentions he remembers them in the news and and comes to remember that christopher had been reported missing.....
- After this...Billy realizes the landladys pets are idle and she tells him there stuffed as they are passed on. Billy also mentions his tea was the taste of bitter almonds....
