On September 19, 1737 William Penn's sons made a fake contract that said they could get land from the Lenape Indians if they walked more in a day in a half. They tricked the Lenape who thought it was suspicious but agreed. Penn's sons hired sprinters so ultimately they tricked the Lenape Indians and took their land.

Each colony had a governor. They were chosen by the king to rule the colony. William Penn was Pennsylvania's first governor. They could over rule the colonial assembly
Intolerable Acts
The harbor is closed until you pay for the tea!
In 1765 the british Government required stamps for all printed items. "Taxation with out representation."
Declaration of Independence
The Tea Act only allowed colonists to buy tea from Britain. Colonists boycotted buying tea. This lead to the Boston Tea Party.
Tea Shop
In 1775 the King closed the harbor until all the tea that was destroyed in the Boston tea party was pay for. This was known as the Conceive acts but colonists called it the Intolerable acts.
In 1776 Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. This document ct ties with the mother country. In this document Jefferson listed 27 grievances that the Patriots had with Great Britain. This document officially cut ties with Great Britain. This also turned into a power struggle. This helped lead to the American Revolution.
