- Peacocks Pigeons
- Written and Illustrated By: Alyssarae Bustamante
- In the forest lived two kinds of birds, Peacocks and Pigeons. Peacocks and pigeons did not get along, so they split the forest into two sides. Neither bird was allowed to go to the other side.
- The Peacocks thought their side of the forest was much better than the Pigeon side. It was colorful and had beautiful trees and flowers. They were very proud of their side.
- The Pigeons' side that wasn't very pretty. It didn't have beautiful trees or flowers like the Peacock side. But they didn't complain.
- One day some young peacocks were playing outside. They ventured off from home and were very close to the Pigeon side. They knew they shouldn't have been there but they were curious.
- As the peacocks kept getting closer to the Pigeon side, a storm began. They were scared so they all flew back home. But, one little peacock did not know how to fly yet so they left him.
- The little peacock was all alone. He cried out for help, and a pigeon came. "It's okay, don't be scared. Come with me!" the pigeon said.
- The pigeon took the little peacock to a safe place and let him stay there until the storm passed. Then, he took the little peacock back home.
- When the little peacock and the pigeon arrived back to the Peacock side everybody was very happy. The pigeon thought they would be mad at him, but instead they were thanking him for taking care of the little peacock.
- After that day, Peacocks and Pigeons finally realized that neither fo them were as bad as they seemed. They were no longer enemies and lived happily.
