- Teddy found Rikki-Tikki-Tavi drying off in the garden and thought he was dead. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was cold and scared so they brought him inside the house to dry off and get a nice meal. The mother wasn't sure about having a mongoose in the house with a boy. They thought he was going to attack someone but the dad said the mongoose only gets angry with you pull his tail and is rude to him.
- Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and Nag were fighting in the garden but Nag ran out before he could really attack him. Nagaina was watching the fight but she didn't get into the fight until the end of the story. The fight happened because Darrze told Rikki-Tikki-Tavi that Nag ate one of the babies that fell out of the nest.
- Teddy and the family were having a celebration dinner. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was so proud of himself for killing Nag, Nagaina, and Karrit. His mother told him a full meal= a slow mongoose. So Rikki-Tikkki-Tavi never ate a full meal, until now cause he got the job done and succeded his duties.
