- One of Odysseus' many adventures landed him on an island of "Lotus-Eaters," where anyone in his crew who ate the lotus flower, got entranced to stay on the island.
- The Sirens
- Odysseus outwitted and defeated the Cyclops, Polyphemus, when he trapped Odysseus and his crew for trying to find food on his land.
- Scylla and Charybdis
- Odysseus traveled to an island where he could speak to the dead. Among others, he communicated with his mother and a recently deceased troop of his.
- Cattle of the Sun God
- Odysseus and his crew were faced by yet another challenge when they entered the home of the sirens. Luckily, everyone survived when Odysseus had all his sailors wear earplugs and ordered they don't listen to him hypnotized.
- Odysseus and his men face Charybdis, a giant whirlpool, and Scylla, a six-headed monster. Although Odysseus managed to navigate through, it was not before Scylla ate six of his soldiers.
- The sun gods island, where odysseus and his crew found themselves, had golden cattle. Inhabiting nymphs warned them not to eat the cattle but the crew disobeyed. They were picked off one by one till only Odysseus was left.
