The climax is when Patrick begins to tell Mary that he had been anticipating leaving her. Mary's first instinct was not to believe any of it, to reject it. She felt so nauseous and had a desire to vomit, Mary then decides they will have a leg of lamb for dinner. She went into the living room, walked up behind Patrick and without any pause, she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.
