  • My Mary Experience
  • I plan on attending a 4- year public university to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I have always had a deep desire of helping children and developing my own creative curriculum. My dream initially started in Templeton, when I missed how fun and creative Marcy was. I realized that I wanted to have an impact on the students like my old teachers had on me. I want to circulate projects like maps constructed out of candy and allow my students to move their desk anywhere to allow them some freedom. I am super excited to see where my future takes me, and I am ready for anything thrown my way!
  • I was always told to follow and chase my dreams, especially in Marcy Elementary. I vividly remember being absolutely determined that I was going to be an astronaut in kindergarten. We were sharing out our future plans and I blurt out I wanted to fly to the moon alongside other kids in the class. Marcy never told me no. Everyone was so supportive, no matter the gender or race, the teachers truly wanted every student to feel accepted and important. Now, I do not necessarily want to be an astronaut, although I do believe it would be cool. I learned that I can follow my dreams and desires no matter what! I can follow any of my callings, which in this case it is education, and I will thrive and accomplish great things while being a positive role model.
  • Looking back at my time at Marcy, my fondest memories were always the fun celebrations we had. For example, Shamrock shake day, kite day, or simply choir concerts. Everything was drawing my attention and I remember wanting to go to school. I specifically remember my older sisters surprising me at the Christmas assembly before break, and it was an unforgettable moment because I barely saw them. I remember everyone thinking my sisters were so cool and I felt extremally lucky that I had someone to carry me on their back to class to grab my Christmas project that I defiantly put my sweat and tears towards to make it a perfect surprise for my parents. Lasty, I should have spent less time worrying about the future and "growing up." Kids in highschooler dream of having a recess and playing foursquare. Stay young and never change for anyone and carve your own trail. you are perfect!
