  • We need enough money to survive!
  • June 20th, 1789
  • Reformation needs to happen. We will not leave until we have a constitution.

  • Hiya!
  • Commoners try to fight for equality amongst the 3rd estate. They had a meeting with the king and people from other estates. King Louis XVI does not like his authority challenged. Reformation could mean his dethronement. The knight from the 2nd estate stands poised ready to offered his opinion.

  • Hmm...
  • On 20 June 1789, the members of the French Third Estate took the Tennis Court Oath in the tennis court which had been built in 1686 for the use of the Versailles palace. The vote was "not to separate and to reassemble wherever necessary until the Constitution of the kingdom is established"
  • October 5th, 1789
  • The Storming of the Bastille was an event that occurred in Paris, France, on the afternoon of 14 July 1789, when revolutionaries stormed and seized control of the medieval armory, fortress, and political prison known as the Bastille. At the time, the Bastille represented royal authority in the centre of Paris.

  • Inspired by the american constitution, people of France got together to make a document to protect the rights of the french people. They asked for help from Thomas Jefferson. He was one of the writers of the american declaration of independence. They finished it 3 days before the storming of the Bastille.
  • Concerned over the high price and scarcity of bread, women from the marketplaces of Paris led the March on Versailles on October 5, 1789. This became one of the most significant events of the French Revolution, eventually forcing the royals to return to Paris.

  • The Demonstration of 20 June 1792 (French: Journée du 20 juin 1792) was the last peaceful attempt made by the people of Paris to persuade King Louis XVI of France to abandon his current policy and attempt to follow what they believed to be a more empathetic approach to governing.
