  • I'm sorry.....Louise..but brently is dead
  • This couldn't be happening to me.
  • This is the setting. The setting is when and where the story takes place. The setting isn't just about when and where but many more elements like the tone of the story.
  • This is a Dialog. A dialog is when a character in a story is having a conversation with another character. Dialog isn't just having a conversation with another character but a character can also just be talking to themselves.
  • Characterization is the author describes the characters or main character. The author might describe a character by their emotions, personality, or physical characteristics.
  • Internal or external conflict is a problem in the story that a character is going through. A external conflict is a outside problem. An example of a external conflict is a character that got in a fight with her best friend.  Internal conflict is when the character is going through a problem with their own self. An example of this is a character is going through depression
  • irony is the opposite of what the character says or does. In this story the irony is situational. Which means that you expect something to happen but the opposite happens. Mrs. Mallard lost her husband so you expect her to feel grief but she actually feels joy.
  • Theme is the moral of the story. What the story trying to teach you. The theme in this story is freedom. Mrs. Mallard who's husband just died, she's able to be free. She saw her husband in the door way and she was so shocked that she passed away
