- "Not finding yourself at the age of thirty-four is a disgrace""...Biff is a lazy bum"
- "I don't know. I think he's still lost, Willy. I think he's very lost"
- Willy is talking to Linda about how he thinks Billy is lazy and not doing anything with his life, he thinks that Biff is not being smart and needs to get a successful job. He is very irritated about this.
- Slide: 2
- Biff is telling Happy that he knows what Willy thinks of him and that he is not successful. This creates tensions between the family because Willy thinks more of Happy, so happy is trying to eased the tension.
- "I hear what he says about me, he thinks I'm a failure."
- "He just wants us to be a successful business man like him"

- Biff is telling Willy about his plans to talk to Bill Oliver about a business idea. Biff explains that him and Happy were talking about selling sporting goods together. Willy becomes excited about the idea of Biff and Happy both having a successful job just like him.
- "I'm going to talk to Bill Oliver and see if he will take me up on a business."
- "Now that's a million dollar idea."
