- In 1878, the Ecuadorian Juan León Mera published Cumandá or a drama among savages. In thedepths of the Ecuadorian jungle, a story arises in which a misunderstood lovemanages to reach its end. Numerous tribes of wild Indians inhabit the easternshores, where nature offers them abundance and gifts in the thickness of thejungle.
- Cumanda´s book
- It is about the family Orosco. They had a son and baby girl. This family was bad with indigenous people. They treated very badly them. One day they were tired of a lot abusive.
- So they decided to burnt Orosco´s house. Juan Domingo´s wife and her baby were in the house. And Juan Doming Orosco and his son were in the town. The woman indigenous didn’t permit to harm the baby girl. The indigenous took care the baby until she grew up . They called her Cumanda.After years Cumanda fell in love Carlos. He was her brother. The tribe forced Cumanda to marry an indigenous but she didn’t like him so she decided to kill herself. Also her son killed too. Finally Juan Domingo Orosco apologized indigenous for being a badperson. He understood that he must be a good person.
