- Cause of the War
- The Civil War started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become states. ... - Why is the Civil War important ? The Civil War is important to U.S. history because it was a significant event that occurred in the nation. Tension with the northern and southern state's rights, slavery, and westward expansion presents the importance of the war.

- The union's war strategy was to capture New Orleans and the Mississippi River as vital to Union victory .
- Describe to me in detail why the Civil War was fought. The Civil War was fought because of the Missouri Compromise. The Missouri Compromise took place in 1820 over balance and latitude. The North and South compromised to keep a congressional balance between slave states and free states.
- Confederacy War Efforts
- Despite the Confederacy's war efforts, Citizens of New Orleans were going to protect themselves from being raided.
- Describe in detail the start of the Civil War. The Civil War started with John's Brown raid in 1859. He was martyr for the abolitionists cause, supplied slaves with many weapons so they can be able to revolt, and became known as a martyr to many people of the North.
- Legacy of the War
- The effects the Civil War had on the United States were a lot of lives that were lost, and things dealing with economy.
- Describe in detail the union's war strategy, and tell me about their important Generals. The North and South blockaded ports because they didn’t want the South to keep trading out of the Mississippi River. The general was Winfield Scott who planned the Anaconda Plan.
- Describe in detail the Confederacy's War strategy, and tell me about their important Generals. The Confederacy's War strategy was for the citizens of New Orleans to burn their own supplies. The reason for this is if the union comes to raid them, the citizens won't have any supplies to go against them. The general of the Confederate war was Robert E. Lee who served as a military officer.
- Describe in detail the effects the Civil War had on the United States, particularly in the south and Louisiana. There were many effects the Civil War had on the United States. Many shelters and homes were damaged that were even throughout the whole town. Many lives were lost that costed as a economic state. Also, the relationships with the Northern and Southerns had to be repaired.
