- After the experience with the porcupine he realized hitting the rock with the hatchet produces spark. Brian tried to many fire with many different things . he was so close so close but yet he couldn't. He found 20$ in his pocket, he shredded it to pieces but nothing. then he tried to remember if he had learnt anything at school, of course! Blowing on the rock helped make fire, after he started blowing he made fire! he went back and forward to the forest to get wood.
- chapter 12
- He kept the fire going from last night, he went back and forward to get wood. He thought about making a signal fire he got a lot more wood and dozed off. he woke up to see the fire out he quickly stired the pile of cole and dozed off once again. In the morning he woke up to hearing nosies and to see there are tracks on the sand, he quickly started digging the sand and found eggs then he realized that the tracks where from a turtle. he took the turtles back to his campsite. He couldn't stop eating the turtle eggs, he was so hungry. He stoped after eating 6 turtle eggs. Now he has to make a signal fire.
- chapter 13
- He cleaned out the campsite and put the turtle eggs he got in a good spot, he hung his windbreaker jacket. He cleaned and worked all morning. As he went to the lake to get a sip of water he looked at the reflection of him and noticed the changes, he looked more tanner than before and he was way more skinier, even the way he saw, thought and heared things. He went to get more wood he thought about making a signal fire but yet he didn't. He later saw a bird with a fish in its mouth, at that moment he realized fish are food and if a bird can fish so could he. he went back to the campsite cause it was starting to get dark.

- Brian tried to fish, but he just couldn't. So later he decided to eat the eggs and raspberries he had, he noticed how small his stomach was. after he ate he went out to look for materials to make a bow and arrow. then he suddenly heard a motor of a plane, he ran to make the signal fire, but he was to late and the plane didn't see. he was alone and hopeless and lost and now he had no hope.
- After Brian missed the first chance to get off the island, he sat and did nothing, he was sick of everything. he stared walking looking down, when he looked up he saw a mother bear with cubs if he had walked anymore he would have been in a very bed situation. Out of no where a wolf comes, brain felt like the wolf was trying to help him, he knew the wolf was trying to protect him. Later when Brian went back to the campsite he took his hatchet and tried to kill himself, he wanted to die. He couldn't bear living anymore. as the sun rised he opened his eyes, he could see the blood on his wrist from the night before. He looked at his arm in discust, "never again i will do this again" he said to himself. He realized he had changed from the day he came here to today and from the day he missed the plane, it has been 42 days. he felt new hope, not for the plane coming back, hope for surviving.
- Later as he went asleephe woke up to a smell it was a stunk. the stunk was stealing the eggs, he worried about the eggs and went to grab it butthen it sprayed him, he was blind for a least 2 hours it felt like a life time.
