Storyboard Description
Fever 1793 is a book about a deadly virus that spread throughout Philadelphia and killed thousands of people. My favorite scene in Fever 1793 is when Grandfather dies. Mattie and Grandfather had just returned from Bush Hill. Mattie and Grandfather saw that the coffee house was destroyed. They were getting everything ready for bed and cleaning up a bit. Grandfather was asleep and Mattie was hiding in a corner from the robbers who were searching for gold, money, and food. Mattie had made herself known. The robbers tied up Mattie and hit her. Mattie untied herself just as Grandfather saw what was going on. Grandfather shot his gun and it knocked him backwards. The robber jumped on Grandfather and started punching. Mattie grabbed the sword and cut the robber. She chased the robber out of the house. She went back in to check on Grandfather. Grandfather said his last words and died. This scene is important because now Mattie is hurt and all alone.
