Storyboard Text

  • Once there were four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy they were sent away from London during the war because of the air-raids. They were sent to the house of an old Professor who lived in the heart of the country, ten miles from the nearest railway station and two miles from the nearest post office.
  • While exploring the house, Lucy found a wardrobe. There was nothing Lucy liked so much as the smell andfeel of fur. She immediately stepped into the wardrobe and got inamong the coats and rubbed her face against them. Shetook a step further in — then two or three steps always expecting tofeel woodwork against the tips of her fingers. But she could not feel it.
  • Next moment she found that what was rubbing against her face and hands was no longer soft fur but something hard and rough and even prickly. “Why, it is just like branches of trees!” exclaimed Lucy. And then she saw that there was a light ahead of her; not a few inches away where the back of the wardrobe ought to have been, but a long way off. Something cold and soft was falling on her. A moment later she found that she was standing in the middle of a wood at night-time with snow under her feet and snowflakes falling through the air.
  • Lucy found herself in another world. She was a little frightened, but she looked excited. Lucy saw a faun. It was busy picking up parcels.
  • "Good Evening," said Lucy. The faun was so buy picking up parcels, that it didn't reply at first. After finishing, the faun said. "Good Evening."
  • “My name is Tumnus. Excuse me — I don’t want to be inquisitive — but should I be right in thinking that you are a Daughter of Eve?,” asked the Faun. “My name’s Lucy,” said Lucy, not quite understanding him. “But you are — you are what they call a girl?” said the Faun. “Yes, I’m a girl,” said Lucy. “You are in fact Human?” “Of course I’m human,” said Lucy, still a little puzzled. "Where are we ?", asked Lucy. "We are in the land of Narnia," said the Faun. The Faun then asked Lucy to go to his home. Lucy said she needed to go back to her home, but the Faun insisted on going to his home. Finally, Lucy agreed.
