- The Old Regime (3 Estates)
- France is Bankrupt
- National Assembly
- The old regime utilizes Feudalism Which was existing in France and most of Europe during the Middle ages. In this time people were divided into 3 groups that had the privileged and unprivileged people .The first 2 estates were privileged and the 3rd isn't meaning the 3rd estate pay taxes and the 1st and 2nd don't.
- Storming the Bastille
- The causes of the French ending up Bankrupt is simple. The king lavished money on himself and the queen bought dresses and other fashion. Also including the french and Indian war had no more money because of having to pay for the war. This all causes for the 3rd estate having to pay even more taxes and the 1st and 2nd refuse to pay.
- Radicals take over / Reign of Terror
- The Nation Assembly was formed by the 3rd estate and were vowing to establish a new constitution for France. The king didn't want a written constitution and when the news of the kings plan to use military force against the N.A and reached Paris on July 14, 1789 it cause something to happen, which is......
- Napoleon
- The people of the 3rd estate were very angry and desided to storm the Bastille. This became France's independace day and in Augest, the National Assembly issues the decoloration on the rights of man.
- A new group called the Convention takes over and abolished the monarchy. They then put the royal couple on trial for treason. And both louis and Marie were both beheaded. There was a commitie of public safety and those accused of treason and were tried by the committee's Revelutionary tribunal. In that hppending they introduced the guillotine and became known as the "National Razor". 17,000 people were executed.
- Napoleon invades the kingdoms throughout europe and starts making a name for himself as both a military leader and as a National leader. There was a napoleon code that allowed equality of all citizens and religious toleration. He then takes down the king of spain and puts his own brother on the throne.
