- Throughout the story, Kurt Vonnegut presents his point that complete and total equality among human beings is a distant utopian universe, and that it eventually becomes unequal and lost in its own idea. Competition and ambition were the motivation behind revolutionary discoveries, and even if we dream of achieving our goals fairly, we still need to accept that there will be people with more advantages than us and others with less, this is what defines the balance of life.
