- Please write an essay about a way to be helpful in your community. It can be anything that you feel that can make a difference. 
- I love recycling! I can write about it and get my friends to help!
- I love helping stray animals, I think I will write about adopting a pet.
- Oh boy! I have no idea what to write about.
- It is tough to be in a new school, nobody seems to want to sit with me..!
- I will make banners to promote pet adoptions and have less strays in the community!!

- I am going to write about recycling and teach others to reuse items!!
- I'm not sure guys. I can't decide! Wait, did you guys notice the new kid??
- On Monday, Mrs. Garay decided to talk about citizenship to her class. She described different ways to show good citizenship. She explained how important it is for each person to be helpful and care for the community they live in. She wanted each student to write about what they would do to show good citinzenship.
- I didn't think moving to a new school would be so hard!
- He looks so upset! Does anybody know him?
- He is sitting by himself. I notice he sits by himself in the bus also, but I didn't think it was because he has no friends!
- I feel bad for him! I am going to say hi and introduce myself.

- All the children in the class were interested to hear about it. Some were already coming up with ideas and thinking what they would write but Seyla wasn't sure what topic she would pick.

- I'm going to write about KINDNESS!! Kindness goes a long way and it's a great way to help others!
- Yes, we are glad we could help! And you know what? This gave me an idea for the project!!
- All children are excited, but Seyla is not sure. She doesn't know what a good example of citizenship is. She is worried, her friends are ready to go, and she doesn't even know what to talk about. 
- I am so glad I met you guys!! I was so lonely before.
- That's a great idea!! We'll help make posters!!
- We are glad to be your friends!!
- All of them notice, there is a boy sitting by himself. He looks sad and lonely, Peter tells the girls, he noticed he rides the bus by himself also.
- They decide it would be nice to introduce themselves and welcome him to school. They approach him and invite him to sit with them.
- Everybody is happy and enjoying each other's company. Randall is excited to have friends and Seyla is also very excited because this helped her see what she would like to do. She shares with her friends she will promote KINDNESS in the community!! Her friends think is an awesome idea and offer to help.
