- As you can see the dog is killing the cat. He uses a weapon to kill the cat.
- This cop didn't arrest the defendant with a warrant. The cop is required to have a warrant and read him his rights before arrest.
- You have the right to remain silent...
- I WANT A LAWYER
- The Judege: I hear by sentence you a charge of first degree murder and a $100,000 bail
- This part is the inital appearence. The defendant goes to court and is told their charges and bail.
- Continue the trial. There is enough evidence
- This part is called grand jury. They detrmine if there is enough evidence to go to trial
- Ummm...No:)
- What if he pleas for a lesser crime *wink*
- This part is called plea bargaining. Defense attorneys and prosecutors will try and negotiate a compromise to avoid a trial
- I plea no guilty to these charges.
- These are all of your charges...
- This part is called a plea arraignment. All of their charges are read to a open court. The defendant can say guilty,not guilty,or no contest. If not guilty they go to trial.
- My client says you sir, came into his home for his arrest without a warrant is this correct?
- This is the start of the trial. Evidence is presented to the jury. Witnesses are brought the stand and questioned
- There also isn't clear evidence linked to my client. As we said before he was no where near the scene.

- You also have photo proof that the man you saw was the defendant?
- You saw this man run away from the crime scene with the weapon correct?
- That is correct

- We the jurors find the defendant guily of first degree murder and asualt.
- This part is called a Verdict. This is when the jury comes to a unanimous vote about the defendant's crime.

- Due process is important in the legal process because it makes sure rights are followed. For example it makes sure a police officeer has a probable cause and warrant for a person's arrest and they aren't just arresting someone without reason
- Due Process is the process that a crimminal would go through in a crimminal case.
- Another reason is it gives time for a well made decison and is not rushed. In Due Process a defendant gets a inital appearence, plea bargain,arraignment, and trial. This gives time for a hearing of the defense and prosecutor. It makes sure the judge amd jury can have time to make a decison since this is another human they are punishing.
- Lastly it makes sure since they are deciding the fate for another human that their freedom isn't immediately taken away. They have chances to talk about their side of the story and can arrange for a lesser sentence. Evidence can also be presented to determine if the crime deserve a very extreme punishment.
