- This is a first person point of view of Sammy when she sees Mikey out of school and eating a double dynomo instead of being in school. This is first person point of view because we can not tell what Mikey or Marissa is feeling or thinking
- In this Sammy Keyes scene Sammy sees a man stealing from a purse in the heavenly hotel with binoculars. When she realizes that the man who was stealing money also saw her watching him steal from a purse. This is a man vs. society because it's The thief vs. the law.
- A theme for Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief is that not everybody is who they seem. This is when Oscar was actually 3 different people and nobody knew. One of his disguise was a blind ice cream man, the other he would wear a blond wig while walking around the street, and the other was when he was at his job.
