- Once upon a time in a peaceful village, there was a handsome man named Batara Guru Sahala, he liked fishing and spending his days into the clear waters.
- One day, he captured a remarkable talking fish, pleading for freedom.
- A talking fish? What mystery is this?!
- Please, set me free!
- Unable to resist the fish's plea, Batara Guru released it. And to his surprise, the fish transformed into a captivating woman, stealing Batara Guru's heart.
- You are the most enchanting being I've ever encountered.
- Yes I promise, I will keep your secret.
- They married, and happiness filled their lives as they raised two lovely daughters.
- I am yours, my love, but you must promise to keep my secret.
- One day Batara Guru got very angry with his daughter. He would not control his mad. He shouted angrily and revealed the secret to his daughters.
- I've had enough of your disobedience! You daughters of a fish!
- Tearfully, the daughters sought solace from their mother, exposing the broken promise.
- Mother, why is father being like that? He even said that we were daughters of a fish.
- What?! He broke his promises. Humans can never be really trusted!
- The earth quivered, volcanoes erupted, and a colossal hole formed, birthing what we now know as Lake Toba.
- Legend has it, Lake Toba emerged from the consequences of a shattered promise, a reminder of the potent repercussions when secrets are unveiled.
