- The head of the Capulet plans a feast.His goal was to introduce his daughter Juliet to a count named Paris,who would like to marry Juliet.Montague's son,Romeo, and his friends (Benvolio & Mercutio) hear of the party and decide to attend in disguise.Romeo hoped to see his love Rosaline at the party but instead when he is there he meets Juliet and instantly falls in love with her.
- Romeo decides to walk near the Capulet house and while he was walking he saw Juliet outside.They both declared their love for one another and planned to marry the next day.
- Juliet's cousin Tybalt sends a challenge to Romeo.Romeo refused to fight Tybalt,which angered his friend Mercutio who then ends up fighting Tybalt.Mercutio was accidentally killed in the process of Romeo trying to stop the fight.Romeo then proceeds to kill Tybalt and is banished by the prince.
- The Capulet family grieved for Tybalt,so Lord Capulet moves Juliet and Paris' marriage to the next day.Juliet refused to marry Paris which made her parents angry at her, but her parents still didm't know about Romeo and Juliet's secret marriage.
- Friar Laurance helps Juliet by giving her a sleeping draught that will make her seem dead.When the wedding party is ready for Juliet the next day ,they believed she was dead.Friar Laurance had sent a messenger to warn Romeo of Juliet's plan and told him to come to the Capulet family monument to rescue his sleeping wife.
- The messenger doesn't arrive because the plague is in town so people couldn't leave.So Romeo buys poison from an Apothecary in Mantua.He returns to Verona and kills Tybalt.He took the poison and drank it.When Juliet awakens from her coma she gets informed by Friar Laurance about what happened.She refuses to leave the tomb and stabs herself.
