Of Course hun! It is important to realize how young she was when she joined the "Children Crusade. She was only in 3rd grade.
Hey Mom! Can you tell me the story of Audrey Faye Hendricks? I need it for class.
Her church was very involved with any movement for their community. Her mother was also the assistant secretary for the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights.
New Pilgrim
Audrey was then introduced to many movements that involved children. Aubrey then decided to join.
During the marches and rides to the jails, the Children would sing gospel songs to keep them calm and happy.
The kids marched from the church, to the park, and all over town. But soon enough the cops were called to arrest the kids.
Aubrey was in jail for 7 days and would constantly get questioned by the police. She also had to share a room with 12 other girls.
After 7 days, Aubrey was reunited with her family. Her family was extremely proud of her for being so strong and for being apart of the movement.
I know, she was only one of the thousands and thousands of young children who fought for our freedom. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you so much Mom! I learned so much. I couldn't imagine sharing my room with 12 people, let alone 2.
