The Aztec citizens were not happy with Moctezuma allying with Cortes, so they decided to stone and throw darts at him. after Moctezuma's death the Aztecs had found another leader named Cuitlahuac.

After the Spanish had claimed the land of Tenochtitlan for themselves, some of the conquistadors were given land by the king and queen of Spain. They used this land for farming and had some of the Aztec slaves do the farming for them.
Queen Isabella had noticed that the Aztecs slaves that were working on the conquistadors land had been treated very poorly. After her passing King Ferdinand re-enforced Queen Isabella's wishes and passed a law stating that the Spanish conquistadors had to treat the aztec slaves with more respect

The news had spread to New Spain in regards to King Ferdinand's new law, but the Spanish conquistadors didn't listen and kept over working and mistreating the slaves.
