  • Siddhartha Gautama was born in the 500s BCE in Nepal (India). He grew up as a wealthy Hindu prince and had all the luxuries he desired. His father was a King and he wanted Siddhartha to be a king as well.
  • you dont need food medatation is the way
  • Siddharth's father shielded him from everything unpleasant because he wanted siddhartha to become a king not a Holy man or a spiritual leader. A fortune teller told his father that Siddhatha would take either of these paths so siddhartha was hidden from the truth and never saw suffering… such as poor, sad, or sick people.
  • wow i have reached enlightenment
  • At age 29, Siddhartha, with his charioteer, went out of the protected palace grounds and, for the first time, encountered suffering, which he understood to be an inevitable part of life. He saw four sights: a man bent with old age, a person afflicted with sickness, a corpse, and a wandering ascetic
  • The less you desire the happier you will be
  • When he bored of the indulgences of royal life, Gautama wandered into the world in search of understanding. After encountering an old man, an ill man, a corpse and an ascetic, Gautama was convinced that suffering lay at the end of all existence.
  • One day, seated beneath the Bodhi tree (the tree of awakening) Siddhartha became deeply absorbed in meditation, and reflected on his experience of life, determined to penetrate its truth. He finally achieved Enlightenment and became the Buddha.
  • When he reached enlightenment he belived that he could inspire other people to reach enlightenment too so that what he did. He went out and told people how wamting more causses more suffering. Thats how buduhisum became.
