- The patriarch Abraham made a covenant with god promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan that one day this would be his descendants' promised land.Years later, a famine struck Canaan Abraham's grandson Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Israelite's grew and practiced monotheism, the pharaoh became distrustful and slaved all of them.

- Moses was a Hebrew and was raised in the palace of the pharaoh in Egypt and wanted to leave because the pharaoh was enslaving the Hebrews/Israelite's. The pharaoh would refuse to to let the Hebrews go out of slavery.

- Some of the punishments where there were disease in the cattle blood in the water and on the last punishment the Hebrew slaves put blood on the top of the doors and the angel of death came and killed the first born son.The slaves spread lamb blood on the top of their doors and then the angel of death would come and kill the oldest son of the family including the pharaoh's first born son.

- The pharaoh demanded the Hebrews to leave Egypt.Moses led the Israelite's to Sinai Peninsula away from Egypt.
- The Israelite's went back toward Canaan Through the Sinai Peninsula Moses receives the ten commandments and other laws from God. They tell the Israelites how to behave toward God and one another.
- Moses died in the desert, so Joshua his assistant led the armies into Canaan and then conquered the city called Jericho. The israelites conquered several small kingdoms called tribes…. Some settled in the south,north, and east.
