I very politely asked the foolish old woman to let me stay so I could get out of the rainy woods. As a result of my greatness, I was immediately welcomed into the unappealing cabin. But even through the storm of rain, still-- still the heart's beating grew louder!
I had failed in gaining possession of the eye-- what a disappointment--but it is the old man's fault! Under the plank where I revealed him, his heart was nowhere to be found! But still its beating grew louder! I was left with nothing but a crime and those wretched villains at my back-- this must have been the old man's revenge, that has to be it. I was not going to let him get back at me, not me, for I am quick, quicker than all, slower than none.

WHERE IS IT?!!
...he had no heart!
The old woman had a gleaming red eye, locked onto mine as she told me stories of old, of kings and queens, lands and seas. There was one about a man without a heart, during which I held my hand up to my own heart, grateful I had one myself. I heard the beating of the hideous heart again-- no-- this time I could feel it! Pounding and pounding! I had found it at last!
I ran and ran away from those villains, across the town, searching for the hideous heart-- but to no avail. Where could it possibly be?

How could this be??
AHHHH
Aha! A cabin!
I ran out of the cabin and back into the woods, realizing, all too much. How could this be? I am but nervous! Guilt? Not until I die! I am not a madman, but it is true-- only a madman could possibly have such an ugly heart! I could not go one like this-- something had to be done. I could still hear it pounding-- this sound I could not escape! Wherever I went! I buried my ears in the soaked ground, then my head, desperate to get away. I could not breathe.I could not undo.
It had begun to rain-- how I hate the rain! I am now drenched with nowhere to go. I then spotted a cabin in the distance! I can go there, and the owner shall shelter me!
