- In World War II, spies were used because it was feared that the enemy was advancing in power. The information they obtained was for their own benefit, as they could interfere and alarm troops or plans.
- The U.S. U-2 spy plane has just arrived at the Soviet Union the easy part is completed and the hard part will begin.
- The U.S. put together a plan for a single-seat aircraft, flown by U.S. pilot Francis Gary Powers, this aircraft would take off in Peshawar, Pakistan, land in the Soviet Union, and be passed by one of them.
- Yes sir.
- Captain Gary you know your mission, go listen and succeed I believe in you.
- On May 1, 1960, the pilot of an American U-2 spy plane was shot down while flying through Soviet airspace. The fallout over the incident resulted in the cancellation of the Paris Summit scheduled to discuss the ongoing situation in divided Germany, the possibility of an arms control or test ban treaty, and the relaxation of tensions between the USSR and the United States.
- Captain Gary is on his way to fulfill every American's dream of making his country proud. Completing this mission won't be easy, but being a spy is hard work and it will all be worth it later.
- I hope this goes well I am very nervous but completing this would be a dream come true.
- Look what's coming I am pretty sure that airplane is not ours.
- No that's not from us, shoot that plane immediately it's from the U.S. they are trying to spy on us.

- Command Good afternoon I am located in Sverdlovsk it is May 1, 1960, I am on the U-2 spy plane and I am about to be fired upon by the Soviet Air Defence Forces I am almost certain they recognized me, and are bringing in all their equipment to capture me.
- It is my pleasure to help, I will never stop. Being part of a team is helping each other no matter how hard it is, that's companionship and I will never stop doing it.
- Thank you for always defending the USSR as it should be protected, you saved us from disaster and you will be thanked, take my word for it.
