  • Jade, what do you want?
  • It's okay if you don't have an answer yet. That's why I'm here. To help you figure out what it is.
  • Mrs. Parker, the guidance counselor, called Jade into her office during lunch. Mrs. Parker has good news to tell Jade!
  • Look at all the activities that I have planned for you!
  • Jade is in her junior year of high school and it is important for Mrs. Parker to know her dreams and aspirations in life after high school.
  • I don't need a mentor. Do you think I don't have anyone who cares about me? I have my mother
  • As Jade's guidance counselor, Mrs. Parker needs to guide Jade into the right direction.
  • Jade, this is a great opportunity. At the end of the program you will be offered a college scholarship.
  • A SCHOLARSHIP?? I'll do it!
  • Mrs. Parker tells Jade that twelve girls from around high schools throughout the city have been selected to participate in "Woman to Woman." Each of the girls will be paired with a mentor.
  • Jade feels awfully offended that Mrs. Parker thinks she needs a mentor.
  • Once Jade hears that she will be offered a scholarship, her face lights up. Due to Jade's current situation, she will not be able to afford to go to college. Therefore, she cannot pass up this great opportunity.
