- She then had an affair with his ninth sonTo her luck, he became the next emperor During his reign she became the highest ranking concubineShe became very influential and then the emperor's favorite
- Was first born as Wu Zhao but was known as Wu Zetian. When she was young her parent were great friends with emperor. As she grew and became a well educated young women she was sent at 14 to serve as concubine to Emperor Taizong.
- She then had an affair with the emperor's his ninth son. To her luck, he became the next emperor. During his reign she became the highest ranking concubine then, she became very influential and then the emperor's favorite
- After becoming his favorite she birthed two sons. Then in 654 AD she gave birth to a daughter, but strangled her to frame the current empress.(rumors but that's what most say happened) Then Empress Wang was disposed of making her the new empress to Emperor Gaozong
- Turns out she murdered Empress Wang to gain power and make others fear her. When the emperor died in 683 she became empress dowanger and regent to either of her sons. But her first son married a girl and made her empress consort. She took his power and them made her second son prince in exile.
- Then she exiled those loyal to her husband and who wanted the princes to rule. She put her youngest as emperor making him Emperor Ruizong but he was on house arrest so she ruled for him. During this period of time under her rule, women could do anything men could.
- In 690 AD her yougest yielded the throne to her and named her empress. She became China's first and last empress. She ruled with an iron fist, was ruthlesss and ambitious. When she was ruling women had more power, all of her advisors were women.
