When STella caught Kennedy playing with the Walkers, she snatched her from over there and called them the N-word to addresses them. "You know what she said to Cindy? Well, the girls were playing some game and Kennedy was losing so she said, I don't want to play with no N****"(Bennett 223). Stella have addressed the Walkers that way, so Kennedy thought it was alright for you to also. She didn't know it was bad.

Desiree was in an abusive relationship, which is why she moved back to Mallered. She had bruises all on her neck and she tried to cover it with a scarf. "When he'd pulled down her scarf, she'd reach for the bruse, her finger trailing along her skin as if she were adjusting her necklace" (Bennett 61). Early was thinking he wanted to touch it, he felt for her and what she went through.
