- When she had went to college, she had dreamed about becoming a dentist and helping people feel better. Now that she is actually working as a dentist for a year now, her job feels more like a burden instead of the joy she had thought she would feel. "Maybe it just sags like a heavy load."
- At first, a nice paying job at a corporate office seemed wonderful. But as time passed by each day is the same as if his life is playing on a consistant loop. He barely makes enough to be able to do what he wants. He wonders now if his decision to take this seemingly great job was the right decision."Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet"
- He watchs the TV Talk Show host with envy burning in his eyes as he thinks back to the dreams he used to have about becoming a Talk SHow Host. He wanted to meet new people and be able to share his opinions. But the opportunities that he had to do this were wasted because he had to work in order to pay off hospital bills. Soon, his dream to be on TV soon faded into nothing. "Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?"
- She watches the children run around and play as iif they don't have a care in the world. She hears them complaining about school and how they want to drop out and start working. She used to think like that and she used to think that everything in life was easy. How wrong she was. She scoffs at the ignorant kids who have it so much better than she did and the foul smell of their innocence of the real world stinks up her nose. "Does it stink like rotten meat?"
- Ever since he was little he dreaned of being a business man but sometimes dreams don't come true. From the moment that he stepped out of college, he attempted to create different business ideas but all failed in different ways. He tried to work for a company in a high ranking position but the bitterness inside of him grew. He continued to make new ideas in scret but he still failed until one day he gave up. "Or fester like a sore. And then run?"
- Her one dream is this world was to create comic books and have other people enjoy her stories. But every comic that she publishes, it never sells. She is barely scraping by in the big city, she wonders everyday what went wrong with her dream. "Or does it explode?"
