- Once there was a farmer who lived alone in Sumatra since he loves fishing, he went to the river one day and caught a beautiful goldfish.

- Please don't be frightened. I'm a person, too— and somewhat, I was cursed— but you saved me! And I'll be your wife in exchange.
- I must be hallucinating right now...
- The goldish turned into a beautiful lady.She attracted Batara Guru so much. He fell inlove with that fish-woman.

- Please don't eat me! I'll--I'll stay with you--I'll be your wife if you don't eat me!!
- He was surprised to find out thatthe fish could talk. The fish begged him to set it freeBatara Guru could not bear it.

- However you must promise me... that you must not tell anyone-ANYONE that I was a fish.
- I promise.
- The woman wanted to marry him and said that Batara Guruhad to keep the secret, which she had been a fish. Batara Guru agreed and promisedthat he would never tell anybody about it

- They were married happily. Theydaughter.Their child grew and became a mischievous and disobedient girl and his father started to become annoyed of his daughter's antics.

- Batara Guru broke his promise and got the word of fish to his daughters instead. The earth began to shake and volcanoes started to erupt. People believed that the big hole became a lake, today it is known as Toba Lake.
