- Scout was asking Atticus if she could go to Calpurnia´s house but Aunt Alexandra answered with a no even though Scout was not asking her then got in trouble by Atticus for yelling at her Aunty and was made to apologize by Atticus.
- “You may not.”
- “I didn’t ask you!”
- “Apologize to your aunt,”
- After Scout apologized to Aunt Alexandra she heard Aunt Alexandra saying that Calpurnia is no longer needed but Atticus wants her to stay because she is a part of the family.
- She’s a faithful member of this family and you’ll simply have to accept things the way they are.
- "We don’t need her now. "
- Jem and Scout got into an argument with Jem saying to Scout to not antagonize their aunt and then Jem tried to spank Scout which started a fight that Atticus had to stop and sent them to bed.
- “You damn morphodite, I’ll kill you!”
- “Now I mean it, Scout, you antagonize Aunty and I’ll—I’ll spank you.”
- Once Scout was sent to her room by Atticus she stepped on something and thought it was a snake. So she asked Jem how a snake felt like and called Jem to her room. So Jem checked under Scout's bed and found Dill hiding in there.
- It turns out that Dill ran from home because he didn't like his new father and decided to go Maycomb to the Finche's house and was very dirty and hungry once he got there.
- Dill didn't want Atticus or Aunty to know that he was there but Jem told Atticus anyways and didn't get in trouble and was told to take a bath. He was also, given food to eat and kept on eating lots of food.
