Storyboard Text

  • True!-Nervous, very dreadfully nervous I am, and have been. However, I am not mad. I will tell you a story to prove it...
  • How is your food Sir?
  • Very good!
  • How was your night?
  • I assure you. I am not mad. A mad man cannot make sense of anything. I will prove my claim with a story. Observe how calmly, how healthily, I can tell you my story...
  • Quite nice. Thank you.
  • I loved the old man. I did not desire the man's money. He had never wronged me. There was no reason I should've wanted to kill him, except... His pale blue, vulture eye. I have no idea how this thought came to me, but after it did, the idea haunted me day and night. I wanted to kill the old man!
  • You would've laughed to see how cunningly I went to work. For seven nights I snuck into the old man's bedroom very stealthily. Every night I would bring a lantern, and shine it on his one vulture eye. It was never open, so I was never able to take his life.
  • It was me! I killed the old man! He is buried under the floorboards!
  • I was never kinder to the old man than in the week before I murdered him. Each morning I would approach him confidently and ask how he passed the night. He never suspected a thing.
  • On the eighth night I snuck into the old man's bedroom, I had great feelings of sagacity. I had never felt more powerful! That night when I opened the lantern just a bit, the man's vulture eye was open. This meant i could finally kill him. I suffocated him under his own bed. I then dismembered his body, and buried it under the floorboards of his bedroom.
  • The next day police came to investigate. A neighbor had heard a scream in the night. I was confident, for what had I to fear? I encouraged them to search thoroughly. After they were convinced, I invited them to sit down and chat. I sat directly above the old man's body out of triumph. Then, I started to hear the beating of the heart... his heart. The police were mocking me, they knew! I couldn't take it. I had to confess.
