The Time of Troubles

- The Time of Troubles began after Ivan The Terrible's death.
- The throne was passed down to Tsar Theodore but he let his brother-in-law, Boris Godunov do all the heavy lifting in politics.
- When Theodore's infant brother Dmitri died, the only successor to the throne, it was rumored that Boris killed him.
- Theodore died in 1598, and with that, the Russian throne fell into the lap of Boris.
- A Dmitri impersonator convinced Poles that he was legit and he, along with the Polish army, stormed Moscow.
- As False Dmitri the Polish Army closed down into Moscow, Boris suddenly.
- Although he took Moscow, he was soon murdered by Orthodox Russians for bringing Catholicism.
- For real
- Are you sure you're Dmitri?
- A second Dmitri impersonator somehow convinced the wife of False Dmitri I that he was telling the truth.
- After the deterioration of authority in Russia, there began class wars.
- Disgusting creature of filth. You stink, get out of my sight!
- At least I don't wear wigs and date my cousins!
- The Monastery of the Holy Trinity stood its ground against the Polish army, enduring a siege.
- With a newly assembled national army, Russian patriots took back Moscow from the Poles.
- It was time to choose a new Tsar to lead the country. The crown eventually fell onto the head of Michael Romanov whose family gave Ivan IV his first wife.
