Listen, we've been friends for awhile know. Could I ask you a personal question?
Sure! What is it, Bella?
Why do you believe in God?
Are her beliefs based on logical reason or simply blind faith?
Well, there are a lot of reasons! It's better if I start showing you when we get to school.
Later, at school...
The first reason is really simple. You see how my car moved us from my house to school? That's because it was moved, or driven rather, by my mom.
Since all things are moved by something else, then there must be an unmoved mover from which every motion is initiated, and this mover is God.
Okay, but what does that have to do with anything?
Hmm, I'm starting to see your point. For the meantime, we have to get to class. Meet you at the library later?
Here's another point. We know everything is caused by something else, right? We're in school to get a degree, we sleep at night to rest, etc. So if we trace back, there surely must be a first uncaused cause.
Alright!
Later, after classes...
I see where you're coming from. What else?
To continue what we were talking about, let's look into our existence. We exist because of our parents before us, just like all else in this world. Hence, there must be a being whose existence we all rely on, and that is God.
Well, we know there are different degrees of good and bad - more good, less noble, etc. - which are all compared to the highest good. Thus, there has to be a cause for the perfection we find in one another, and this cause is understood to be God.
Come, let's head to the playground for this last one.
