- What is it ?
- Do you like it? The platform is for the castle.
- On Ch. 9 Sir Simon lets William know that Mrs. Phillips will not come out of her room until William comes and gets her. He lets him know that his Dad walked around the castle and spread ribbons from one side to the other. He starts having doubts about telling his friend Jason everything about the castle. On Sunday afternoon, his father calls him down to his workroom. He shows him the platform he made for the castle and takes it into the attic and places it on the castle.

- All right, I guess.
- How did the practice go this afternoon?
- William decides, after speaking to Sir Simon, that he will be joining them at 4:15 the next afternoon, one week after Mrs. Phillips had been standing on the flagstone looking up at him. He decides he will assemble all of his items and peace offerings to Mrs. Phillips in a backpack. His mother comes upstairs to hug him goodnight after being on call for the weekend.

- Hello Sir Simon! Do you have the token? I am ready to come!

- William tells Sir Simon he is ready to go to the castle to meet Mrs. Phillips. He asks him to work his magic quickly before he changes his mind. They agree to meet at the castle's drawbridge. The knight waves at him holding the token and he closes his eyes waiting for the magic to happen: It's done , Sir Simon says. Then, he walks up the ramp his father had made and waits. The knight instructs him to enter.

- Why are you here now ?
- Because I know I made a mistake.
- On Ch. 10, Sir Simon embraces William and reminds him he is a courageous person. He walks William to Mrs. Phillips' master chamber. He meets with her and tells her he has to go back with Sir Simon and find the other half of the token that sets them free. He gives her the supplies in his backpack with the peace offerings. They eat dinner together with Sir Simon who lets William know the training will start the next day.

- Remember you have the heart and soul of a knight in the body of a squire.
- Rules of conduct we must respect; be we knight, squire or page.
- William's training begins. Sir Simon whispers words of incantation that his father told him when he became a knight which were rules of conduct he had to follow. Sir Simon and Mrs. Phillips divide his training: Sir Simon teaches him battle skills and Mrs. Phillips makes him practice music and gymnastics. At the end of the week, Sir Simon declares they are ready. William and him would leave at dawn.

- Remember you serve God and the people. Protect this knight and squire from any evil.
- The next day, Mrs. Phillips helps William get dressed and gather his essentials for the battle. After, William follows the instructions given by Sir Simon and covers him up with armor and a sword needed for combat. Sir Simon asks Mrs. Phillips to bless his sword, as well as a keepsake. She gifts him a long scarf from her neck. In return, he gives her the half of the token of Janus for her protection. William is reminded by Mrs. Phillips that he will come back.
