- Do you know the dangers that even the bugs in your grass pose to you and your children? You may say that you’re safe but little did you know these threats could be right outside your doors. (ZOOM IN ON BUG)

- While outside it’s important to know the proper ways to keep yourself safe. When you are outside for long amounts of time in high grass or near trees wear long sleeves, cover ankles, and wear an EPA-registered bug repellent (CDC).

- According to Iowa Health Human Services, there are over 12 diseases that are spread by ticks and Mosquitoes. Many diseases could affect you for the rest of your life after you're bitten. For example, according to Iowa Health Human Services, 1% of people who get bitten by a mosquito that is carrying West Nile virus will experience neurological issues and only 70-80% of people don't even show symptoms. Every year there are about 144 cases of Lymes diseases in Iowa and if left untreated people could be affected by facial palsy, irregular heartbeats, swelling of brain and spinal cord, etc. Keep your children and yourself safe from insects.(some outside gif in background)
