Melanie is in her booth with the teaching machine. She daydreams about flamingos the whole class. The class ends and she wakes up to the buzzer, leaving the booth. The world was harsh and polluted. Her parents promised her to take her to the natural park soon.
Falling Action
Melanie's dad was hesitant on letting her go because he didn't want her to be dissapointed but he eventually gave in. The park keeper explained a few things to her dad. When they were distracted though, Melenie ran off into a path in hopes to find a flamingo.
Resolution
Melanie had found the flamingo, or so she thought. It was a fake all along. Her dad and the ranger ran shortly after her, warning her to stay out, but it was too late. She had tried to touch the flamingo but it tipped over, it was a fake.
Theme
The park keeper explained to Melanie that the flamingos had gone extinct due to the pollution in the ocean around them streaming to the waters, poisoning it, along with the birds. They wanted the people to atleast know what it looks like so they replaced it.
Melanie had to adapt and grow from not being able to witness a flamingo. She finally got herself together and said,Goodbye, to the plastic bird.
Melanie has learned that sometimes she has to grow up and change for the better.
