- Ghost was getting better at running but his shoes were holding him back from achieving his goals. He was getting bullied a school for cutting his shoes in an attempt to try and make them better. He ran away from school and went to Everything Sports and stole a pair of running shoes.
- Coach decided not to give Ghost a jersey because Coach had known that he had stolen the shoes. Before Ghost could explain Coach told him that he was going to have to tell Ghost's mom. Ghost tried to explain himself and Coach decided that he was just going to pay for them and that he was going to make Ghost apologize to the store in person.
- Coach tells Ghost that Ghost should be using running as a way to move toward what he wants to be in life, not to escape what he is. In the end Ghost was let back on the team and given a jersey and he even competed in his first competition the Hundred Meter Run.
