Naveah Nielsen Fever 1793

Fever 1793 is a book about a girl who had yellow fever in 1793.My favorite part of the book is when Mother returns to town after the first frost. The first frost came and yellow fever was over. Elisa and Mattie reopen the coffeehouse. Nathaniel saw the president coming back. Everyone came out and lined up in the street. Everyone was celebrating Washington’s return. Another cart stopped at the coffeehouse. An old old lady with gray hair got out and it was Mother. Mattie did not recognize her because she looked older. Mattie was relieved to see her mother. This scene is important to the story because now that everyone has returned, Mattie can create her new normal.
