- He discovered cells in corks using a microscope. He described them as honeycomb like structure.Then he coined the term"cells".

- He had also discovered cells just like Robert Hooke discovered bacteria.From what he saw he named them "animalcules.'

- What is this. I can see these organelle's.
- He was studying plant cells and recognized a structure within the cells which was the nucleus. He was convinced that this organelle was important for the cell.
- Matthias Schleiden discovered that plants were made up of a cells. Theodor Schwann laid the foundations of the cell theory and discovered that all animals are made up of cells. They were than the co-owners of the cell theory.
- All organisums are made up of one or more cells.
- He had found a way to show the organelle's of cells and how cells come from other cells.
- So theses cells come from preexisting cell's.
