- My mom is taking sooo long to pick me up! I need to get to guitar practice, like, right now. I texted her five minutes ago!
- You know in the 19th century when the internal combustion was invented, owning a car was a luxury. You had to take the train to get to where you wanted to go, if you were to take a train, it would take two to three days just to get across he U.S. Now, in the 21st century, we have cars and airplanes which reduced the time dramatically, and going on trains meant you had to buy a ticket and wait for a train to be available. With cars, you can go whenever you want.
- oh wow, I didn't know that. I should be more grateful it doesn't take me days to get to where I want to go, cars have really improved our world. Could you tell me more about the internal combustion engine?
- well, as much as cars have improved human life, it has not improved our world. Because we have cars, we had to construct roads and highways, which destroyed natural habitats. Cars also use fuel to get around which makes air pollution. I would recommend using a bike, it's still fast and efficient and many roads have bike lanes. If you're rich you could use the electric car, It still harms the environment but not as bad!
