Online Friend (part 1)

- Timmy is a year 7 who has just graduated from year 6. He is ready to start his new year in high school. Timmy doesn't realise the dangers of having online friends. Timmy is going to ask his dad whether he can go. This is a very dangerous situation because Timmy doesn't know who his online friends really are. Online friends can be dangerous because you are trusting them to be a good person. Also, they could be adults. When you make a friend online you expect them to be the same age as you. But it can be an adult pretending to be a kid. These people are called child predators. They stalk young kids for personal information.
- Your online friend sends you his address and asks you to hang out with him
- Wow! I will hang out with him because he is my friend
- Your online friend could be anyone so approach with caution
- Timmy and his dad have arranged a hang-out with one of his online friends. Timmy's dad isn't so sure about the idea so he goes with Timmy to the hang-out. Timmy walks down the street with his dad until they reach his online friend's house. Timmy's dad approached with caution next to Timmy. He doesn't trust that Timmy's online friend is a good person. Timmy didn't believe his dad when he said that Timmy's online friend could be anyone. So he was just excited to see him.
- It will be fine. I would know if my online friend was bad because I know him
- Timmy and his dad have arrived at his online friend's house. Timmy's dad rang the doorbell. Timmy and his dad could hear the doorbell ring inside the house. They also heard footsteps approach the door. Suddenly the door flung open and out stepped a tall man. He had a black beard and blue eyes. Timmy was in shock at who his online friend actually was. Timmy's dad took Timmy's hand and ran away from the house.
