  • Person vs. Person
  • That's it! I'll sign the petition for workers rights.
  • No, you can't! its a sin!
  • Person vs. Self
  • Its okay, its alot of money. I'd be tempted myself if I was you.
  • When I first say you...
  • Person vs. Nature
  • Brrr, its too cold. I have no choice but to stop in the village till this rain clears up.
  • This is the scene when Betsy and Amelia were fighting about signing the petition. This is person vs. person because Betsy and Amelia are arguing with each other. Betsy says that she is going to sign the petition because they are treated unfairly, but Amelia says that it is a sin and is unlady-like.
  • This scene is when Lyddie found Ezekiel in the cabin. This is an example of person vs. self because she is struggling with herself about if she should turn in Ezekiel, who is a runaway slave, for the reward money. The money would help her alot, but she knew that she would feel too guilty.
  • In this part of the story, Lyddie is heading towards Massachusetts to get a job in a factory there. This is person vs. nature because the weather is making it difficult for Lyddie to travel. It slows her down because instead of continuing at her steady pace, she has to stop and find shelter until the rain stops.
