- in the 1920s flappers started to appear and these women wanted to express themselves and find different ways to live their lives like cutting their hair, participate in different risky activities like smoking and drinking, they also danced a lot and listened to jazz that ended in 1930's and moved onto rock.
- 1920s Harlem renaissance
- in the 1920s the stock market crashed affecting about 15 million people. most people lost their jobs to unemployment and it was very hard for most people to get back on their feet. This was a serious problem in american and hoover just was encouraging them to try to get back on there feet and get more money and at first the people fell for it and then they started to get angry at the president and as soon as the citizens could they elected FDR for 3 years.

- in the 1920s woodrow wilson made a law that banned alcohol in the united states and some bars opened bars with no alcohol and other bars had underground speakeasies which upstairs there was no alcohol and downstairs there was secret bars with alcohol.
- In the 1920s the Harlem renaissance let people express themselves and share their talents like jazz, singing,art, and poetry in fact duke ellington was into jazz!
- In the 1920s modern conveniences became more popular and people started to invent more things like electricity and more factories started to produce more goods. even people could order things through catalogs
