  • RAISING QUESTIONS ABOUT TAXES

  • UP UNTIL THE 1760'A NEITHER THE COLONISTS OR THE BRITISH CITIZENS COULD EXPECT AN UPRISING FROM THE COLONIES. HOWEVER, THINGS CHANGED WHEN THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT STARTED ENFORCING CRAZY LAWS AND TAXES AFTER 13 YEARS.

  • AMERICANS FELT FRUSTRATED THAT THE BRITISH WERE ONLY THERE TO WATCH OVER THEM. THE COLONIES FELT TAXING AND WATCHING OVER THEM WAS UNFAIR, ESPECIALLY AFTER THEY HAD WORKED SO HARD TO DEVELOP THE COLONIES; YET THEY STILL HAD NO REPRESENTATION IN PARLIAMENT.

  • We must work together
  • THE COLONISTS ACTIVIST WERE UPSET WITH THE STAMP ACT AND CREATED A MEETING CALLED THE STAMP ACT CONGRESS. THEY THOUGHT BY CALLING THIS MEETING THEY COULD BE RECOGNIZED BY PARLIAMENT.
  • Boycotting British Goods
  • The Americans were upset and started to form a group called the Stamp Act Congress. They hoped they could make the Stamp Act go away.
  • America tried but struggled fighting Britain over the Stamp Act. Once the representatives met together they realized they would have a better chance if they worked together against Britain.
  • The Colonists boycotted British goods and eventually got Britain to repeal the Stamp Act. However, the peace did not last long.
  • THIS WILL NOT STAND!!!!!!!!
