  • Parvathi remember you don't need to see all material things with care and control, they are just mere distractions called MAYA , it was created by Bramha for his own fancy, your work as the goddess of earth is only to connect people spiritually and physically
  • Shiva the god who creates, transforms and protects the universe was testing his wife's patience once had a dispute with his consort Parvathi the goddess of earth and fertility....
  • Please lord! I am the goddess of earth I need to handle them like that and also don't try to belittle my essential work in the universe
  • For millennia Parvathi had merely smiled knowingly as Shiva dismissed many things she nurtured, but upon his latest rebuke, she decided that she had to prove herself once and for all...
  • one day when Shiva was meditating she vanished from the universe leaving her half of the cosmic energy that kept the earth turning
  • Without Parvathi, Shiva realized that the union between him and Parvathi was the one which maintained the balance in the universe
  • Oh Parvathi, now I have realized your importance but it is too late now
  • Devi please save us!!
  • without Parvathi, the land had lost its fertility and turned dry and barren hence the people could not produce any food now, there was starvation everywhere, people gathered near the temple and prayed to Parvathi
  • We are very hungry, we are dying devi
  • seeing her devotees starve and also Shiva rectifying his mistake, Parvathi decided to take a new Avatar with a pot of rice and a golden ladle, this new form was called Annapurna the goddess of food and nourishment
  • Legends say that Annapurna first landed in the holy city of Kashi...
  • Later, Shiva disguised himself as a beggar and asked Annapurna for food and forgiveness....
  • After the arrival of Annapurna nourishment came back, people could now do agriculture on the land, all were happy
